About Ababú

In 2001, at a time when there was little on offer for the developing Irish medium sector, Ababú produced a successful weekly series of storytelling, for children between the ages of 3 and 8, in the Cultúrlann, Belfast.
Soon after the Arts Council of NI and Foras na Gaeilge funded a three year project to produce Irish medium theatre for children. Ababú has been offering a wide range of theatrical experiences to young children since then.
Ababú has also worked in partnership with several Irish medium Primary Schools to create whole school productions, and has offered assistance to English speaking schools who wished to include a flavor of Irish in theirs
